Photographer’s Note

We were very lucky to visit some places in Europe during my trip last month and we didn't have any rainy day, maybe two or three mildly cloudy days but the rest where sunshine every where.
I'm very happy to have visited Portofino, a small Italian fishing village, comune and tourist resort located in the province of Genoa on the Italian Riviera. The town crowded round its small harbour is considered to be among the most beautiful Mediterranean ports. The vivid colors of the facades of the old houses located around the bay really called my attention.

A ship or boat is always a great platform for photography! Next summer I'm planning a photo trip on Hurtigruta (Coastal Express) here in Norway...
The village around the hill is captured with good details and the fine light makes the faded colours show up...
A lovely place well depicted!

Hola Emile!

Preciosa imagen, muy bello lugar, tremenda "mezcla" de arquitectura y naturaleza, gran encuadre y composicion! Impecable manejo de la luz, y muy bellos colores! El unico "problema" que veo, es que el "horizonte" parece un poco torcido hacia la izquirda, pero es algo que se puede corregir muy facilmente en Photoshop.

Hola amigo Emile,
había oído hablar de la belleza de este pequeño pueblo y de su puerto, pero tu foto me auda a entender el motivo de eso. Es un lugar encantador, parece muy agradable y tranquilo, sus casas tradicionales se combinan con elegantes palacetes y mansiones, y toda la arquitectura tiene unos maravillosos tonos pastel que le dan un gran nivel estético.
Buen encuadre, el mar, el pueblo, las colinas llenas de pinos y el cielo son fantásticos elementos para una vistosa composición.
Excelente trabajo.

Excuse-moi si je suis en retard, nous avons pris quelques jours de vacances pour visiter les enfants qui demeurent loin de chez-nous. Espectacular panorama de esta encantadora ciudad. Las hermosas casas están comprimidas alrededor de la colina verde. Los colores son maravillosos y la luz es espléndida. Excelente nitidez. Muy buena composición!

Perfect shot of this Italian village indeed! So many great aspects to this shot. Love the colours and the architecture. I like the composition of the image, how the hill side is centered in the shot. Lovely blue sky with interesting clouds. Even the boats all scattered in the FG. Looks like a beautiful place to be.
