Manarola is a small town, a municipality) of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northern Italy. It is the second smallest of the famous Cinque Terre towns...
Manarola may be the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. The local dialect is Manarolese, which is marginally different from the dialects in the nearby area. The name "Manarola" is probably dialectical evolution of the Latin, "magna rota". In the Manarolese dialect this was changed to "magna roea" which means "large wheel", in reference to the mill wheel in the town...

Manarola's primary industries have traditionally been fishing and wine-making. The local wine, called Sciacchetrà, is especially renowned; references from Roman writings mention the high quality of the wine produced in the region. In recent years, Manarola and its neighboring towns have become popular tourist destinations, particularly in the summer months. The attractions in the region include a famous walking trail between Manarola and Riomaggiore (called Via dell'Amore, "Love's Trail") and hiking trails in the hills and vineyards above the town.

Hi Ihsan... Good composition, with the boats the houses and the landscape, but what it is more important here, the deepth of field is fantastic, and over all, the light, is simply magic.

Great shot! This really shows the crowded nature of the place, with buildings piles one on top of the other, right from the sea up to the top of the hills. Wonderful colour too, which never hurts a photo. Well done!

lovely this part of the town that is build on the cliff rock.I like the colourful houses that in combination with the moody atmosphere make the scene so specific.I like the foreground place that are resting the boats and create depth in the scene.Well done.

Ihsan, I like seeing what you see, it seems you see pretty much what I do, detail and rich rich color. This one would be hard to goof up I think because it is so detail intense but you have done a fine job with the moody sky and I love how you have filled the whole frame.

Merhaba İhsan Bey, gerçekten başlıkta belirttiğiniz gibi rüya gibi bir köy. Evler üzerinde bulundukları kaya parçasıyla kıyaslandığında çok katlı olarak tanımlanacak bir yapıda olmasına rağmen estetiksel anlamda görüntü çok güzel. Portekiz'de Azenhas do Mar adında bir balıkçı kasabası var. Oraya biraz benzettim. Elinize sağlık.

Hello Ishan,
Manarola was by far my favorite of the 3. it seemed more preserved from the hords of tourists but still inclined to welcome them...People working their land, others coming back from the sea with fishes, other selling veggies at the market, etc...oh, and the pastas with walnut sauce there...mmm, amazing! Did you taste that gelato just there, we can see it on the picture. It was amazing. I can still smell the sea.
You know why I can remember all this? it's because your photo makes me feel like I'm there. it's the walkway on the left, the very straightforward approach, the realistic colors.
I love it. thx for this moment of peace.
