Cervo is a small, ancient town and comune, built on top of a hill along the Italian Riviera in the province of Imperia, 1,200 inhabitants.
Originally, it was, in Roman times, a mansion along the Via Julia Augusta. Slowly expanding, it became, in medieval times, a fief of the Clavesana marquis, who was a subject of the Republic of Genoa, to which Cervo had always been faithful. The present character of Cervo dates from these times: 16th century towers and ramparts are still protecting the village.
One of its main attractions is the fine baroque church of St. John the Baptist, overlooking the sea. The Romanesque "Oratorio di Santa Caterina" contains semi-perished 16th century frescoes. The medieval Clavesana stronghold hosts the remarkable Ethnographic Museum of Western Liguria and the Palazzo Viale-Citati.
People used to earn their living as coral fishermen in the Corsican and Sardinian seas, in addition to being olive growers and seafarers. But the economy of Cervo is nowadays based on tourism and agriculture.
Cervo's connections with classical music date from to 1964, when the International Chamber Music Festival of Cervo was established by the famous Hungarian violinist Sandor Vegh. The event has been held every summer ever since. Music master classes - Accademia di Cervo - are held in September, and a guitar academy is held in June.

fine close-up composition, which enable us to take a look at the beautiful architecture of Cervo.
The architecture itself is of course lovely and impressive, but I like equally these vivid and well-saturated colors as well as strong contrast between them.It makes definitely the shot more expressive and the presentation more captivating for us!
Wish You a nice day

Interesting view of this village with all these superimposed buildings! The low POV is perfect to show it, and the open sky makes the composition even more beautiful! Very good colors! Wonderful job!

A beautiful hill, man made of architecture instead of natural. I love the colors that strike throughout the scene here, and the blue sky beyond. (You probably notice I love a good blue sky!!). Its a really cool upwards point of view that terminates with the tall towers reaching up and beyond. Really great composition on this, and a very good name for the image too.
All the best

J'aime beaucoup cette contre plongée qui donne beaucoup d'ampleur aux immeubles et utilise parfaitement le ciel très bleu comme arrière plan. J'aime aussi la saturation des couleurs.

This is an excellent composition, perfectly cropped just to show the façades of the nearest buildings and the church towers. The dark blue sky provides a superb background to the nicely coloured buildings. The composition may look simple but it is very cleverly done.

A very good POV, looking upwards to this interesting townscape. The towers are well positioned in the composition. Very attractive colours beneath the deep blue sky.

A great view upwards showing the houses rising up behind each other on the hill, crowned with the church towers.
The blue sky makes the red roofs and the pink facade stand out more.
A colourful view.
Best regards, Paul

Fine picture of the village with the old walls, the grilled windows, the pastel colours and foremost the two towers which are strong against the clear deep blue polarised sky!

Splendid architecture under marvelous Italian sky. it must be nice to hear chamber music in this surrounding. One can feel how hot it is there, all window shutters are closed. fascinating place.

Un contre plongé et un cadrage parfait pour bien en apprécier les moindres détails des immeubles et des campaniles, un coté ancien de cet ensemble qui donne beaucoup de charme avec ces façades colorées

Excellent infor note: Amazing architecture of the historic ancient town. The colors of the stonework against the pretty blue sky is most enchanting and the imposing towers seem reaching out the sky yelling for attention. There' s a sense of rustic feel in it too, the warm light and tones have further enhanced its uniqueness and style and the pov has greatly accentuated the depth. How nice to see that it's so well preserved and maintained. This is an image to be proud off for sure. Awesome work, Congrats.

Excellent shot of this village. I like how you have composed with the upwards POV and the church on the top as the icing on the cake. Beautiful details and fine colours. Very nice work! TFS.
