Photographer's Note

The Imperial-Palace luxurious hotel in Santa-Margherita was built in 1889 by the Costa family of Corsica.
Surrounded by a beautiful park, which we see most of it in this picture, and offers fantastic view of the Tigullio Bay.
This picture taken from a boat upon returning from Portofino.

Hello Ike,
A very impressive hotel and no doubt expensive. You have captured it well sat in its verdant surroundings. The strip of blue Mediterranean along the bottom makes a fine contrasting frame. The ambient light is very attractive and the colours natural; very good sharpness.

"Très très chic" place indeed, and from the turret above down to the stone boat house, all we see is beautiful extravaganza to attract rich people.
I notice the magenta-coloured hedges that suit so well in the greenish decor, being a complementary color of green.

Good Morning Ike,

You have done well to get such a sharp exposure and fine composition from the deck of a boat. I remember doing the same thing myself, whilst sailing on the Hudson River and bracing myself for steadiness. It is a beautiful place: the gardens and the hotel look immaculate.

Oooh this place looks so luxurious, imagine living here!? I think I'd never want to go to work! Beautiful colours dominate here and the terraced hillside and architecture are beautifully detailed. The sky is a little blown out, but this often happens in the harsh sun. Nice job.

Il bellissimo Grand Hotel Imperial Palace, ed il"piccolo" trattato di Rapallo.
Una dimenticanza delle grandi potenze, le briciole all'Italia.
Ottima foto nitidissima ed un ricordo delle vacanze tardo primaverili dei nobili Russi.

I went to porto fino by bus and the landscape was fantastic too. I can imagine how beautiful it would be going by boat.
very beautiful hotel and gardens, a nice place to spend money a lot and enjoy good moments to relax. haha.

Hey Ike,

Yet another beautiful town along the Italian coastline, and I would have figured this to be a residence!? I love the color contrast of the turquoise water against the green hillside, with that splash of purple and orange mixed in. The composition is great, it really shows off the natural surrounding and creates a sense of the Ligurian coast.
