The port of Genoa is, in terms of trade and the scale of the largest Italian industrial and commercial port and one of the most active in Europe. Natural outlet to the sea of the North-West Italian and situated in a strategic position towards European economic and commercial hinterland, the port of Genoa has a very ancient history and tradition. After having experienced a long period of crisis - subsequent economic stagnation of the seventies and eighties, but also due to an escalation of conflict for working conditions and remuneration of the workers port - the famous camalli - the port has been enjoying a new force in the nineties, reporting its market share on the values ​​of excellence. The view of the harbor is part of the symbol of the city, that is the Lantern.
