Photographer’s Note

Mopeds. Another icon of Italy.
While being for the first time in a big Italian city I got shocked with the number and varieties of the weehicles. But what I found in Rome - that was something unbelievable: thousands of mopeds running everywhere, in every direction, through the whole day.
But has anybody found a better mean of transportation, more suitable more convenient, more effective, more appropriate for the city like Rome? Don't think so...

Very amusing and well spotted J - they look like so many faces and someone has turned his back (or his or her) bum to us! I like your title too - which conjures up all sorts of other asscoiations.

Cher Jerzy,
La circulation automobile dans les grandes villes est devenue un problème partout en Europe.
Paris, ne fait pas exception, l'on voit une augmentation continue des véhicules à deux roues (motos, scooters). Cela devient un moyen de transport qui permet des déplacements rapides avec les dangers inhérents à ce genre de véhicule (pas de carrosserie).
Très bien vu.

Nice mopeds perspective and repetition here and yes, there is definitely some bug, the tight framing amplifies the focus put on it.

Very nice repitition caught here. Quite agree, this time, with your views on transportation, though personally I prefer a push-bike for short inner city journeys. I've got a very similar shot from Barcelona, though not so good, not sure whether to post it.

Good shot of the typical mopeds Jerzy. Too bad with the one breaking the pattern (..or maybe not).
Tight cropping, good light, I like the raindrops on the one to left..

Jak widaæ zwyk³e skutery równie¿ mog± byæ dobrym tematem zdjêcia. Wystarczy tylko pokazaæ je w interesuj±cy sposób, co na pewno Ci siê uda³o :) Tytu³ dope³nia resztê.

No Patrz zawsze który¶ musi siê wyró¿niæ.No, ale to W³ochy w Niemczech by³o by to nie do pomy¶lenia nawet kolorami by nie mieszali, ale w tedy ta fota nie by³a by taka ciekawa.
Te skuter maj± teraz bardzo futurystyczny wygl±d nie to, co stara Osa, Wiatka lub Lambretta

Hi Jerzy. Good use of repetition to exploit the pattern potential of the parked mopeds to the best. I like how the second one from the left breaks the steady rhythm a little. The surrounding urban details are just enough to establish the context without distracting from the main subject. Good shot.

I burst into lauging loud when I found this photo. Good capture of a daily life and yo have good eyes to take it into a photograph. Congratulation!

Hi Jerzy,
I happen to work for the company that makes that particular moped model, and actually my team designed it, and now it is the most common model in Roma, so I think you got quite a typical image of the city here.
It just was too interesting a photo for me (having contributed to produce this model) and I could not stop writing this comment.
