Finally I went to the city of Rome in March 2013, just before the new pope was elected/ chosen. It doesn't feel like a city but more like a small village. All the main sites can be reached on foot. Rome is very compact , very old but it has a lot of beauty. Three things it has in common with the 500.

This shot was taken in front of Santa Maria in Vallicella's square while walking back from Vatican city to my hotel near the Colosseum. Between Vatican city and Colosseum, you can walk past the very impressive Piazza Venezia, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.
