Photographer’s Note
Castel Sant'Angelo, in Rome. This is a great example of how buildings in Rome are added to and changed in purpose over the centuries, making it one of the most fascinating cities in the world. The oldest part if the round tower, which was built in 135 AD as the tomb of the emperor Hadrian. Over the years the place was turned into a fortress with the addition of walls and it became the stronghold and guardian of Rome and the Vatican, which is nearby.

Ciao Alvin
A favorite subject among trekkers, though more often from the other side seems to me, but the reason why you took it from this side is obvious, to get this nice reflection as well, very nice clarity and an excellent warming of the structures by this light of 00:40 ;-)
Have a nice day JY

Hi Alvin,
Out of the ordinary from what we normally would expect from Rome and i like it. Not something traditional, but out of the Vatican and colloseum photo's. It's great in light and composition, with on top ot that a very good reflection in the water which make such a nice balance to the upper part of the photo....i like this.

Hi Alvin
Nicely exposed with excellent reflections. The diagonal of the bridge and its reflection make for a great leading line.

Hi Alvin,
It's all pure magic; no matter where you are, you capture perfect light and clarity of colors. The framing is exquisite here with the diagonal of the walkway and the curves of the tower and the arches and multiplied in the reflection. That IS the amazing thing about Rome; its on-going life!!

Salut Alvin,
Good light seems to have follow you along your trip in Rome, straight from the majestic Rockies and quality you have made us used to... :-P)
And you have fully took advantage of it to present this one-of-a-kind castle. I like the way you have captured it, with the bridge and its reflection creating a strong pointing arrow toward the building. Excellent golden light that warm up the scene and mix perfectly with the smooth blue sky.
I understand what Dkeus was referring to, as we would all like to see untroubled reflection like the one from Moraine lake, but Tiber river rarely offers the right conditions to achieve such a thing.
Cheers!

You made a good choice Alvin for this photo of the bridge and castle. Also a fine time of the day with the warm colors and of course the reflection.
I didn't like my own version for the overall view when I was there (too harsh light I think later in the day) and ended up with just a detail of the bridge and castle:

A great shot of this bridge and the "Engelsburg".You had fantastic light and I like these warm tones and their contrast with thie deep blue of the water. The reflections are good ,too.

Hello Alvin!
I really like this one, with natural and beautiful colors, excellent light management and sharpness! The low viewpoint was very well chosen to capture this image, where the wonderful castle and the bridge were reflected on the waters of the "Tevere" so nicely!
Attractive, interesting and very nice!
TFS - congratulations!
Warmest regards,

Hi Alvin
The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The diagonal line of the bridge is an extra in the composition, The point of view is showing the details and colors of the castle. The colors are enhanced by the quality of the light. Have a nice day.
