Photographer's Note
Vespa is both Latin and Italian for wasp — adopted as a name for the vehicle in reference for the high-pitched noise of the two-stroke engine and for its body shape: the thicker rear part connected to the front part by a narrow waist, and the steering rod resembled antennae.
There is only one Vespa in Montreal, in the district of Outremont, and everyone turns their head to see it passing on the streets.
Bzzzzzz!

Hi Andre,
This is one of the famous Italian icons, the famous Vespa. It can be photographed in many ways but this setup is something i like. It's Italian red, the plate from Rome, so can it be more Italian than this.
I like it my friend, and every Italian here on TE should leave a comment here, they can be proud on it.
Have a nice weekend, Henk

Ciao Artisto,

Bon week-end,
Karine

Hi Andre,
A great concentrated close up. The colour is eye catching (red for speed) and I love all the individual details such as the metal lettering, cool number plate and light. A nice capture!
Regards
Wanda

And where is our Dolce Vita?! :-)
The first prototype was given the initials MP5 and baptized "Paperino," the Italian name for Donald Duck, a nick-name given to it by the workers because of the strange shape it had. Enrico Piaggio did not like the design and asked D'Ascanio to redesign it, making the MP6 - which had a more aeronautical-derived aerodynamic wasp-look.
From a Duck to a Wasp! Would love to see you making a picture of the prototype as well ;-P.
Have a good weekend!

Véhicule mitique dans une ville mitique !
Bravo !
