Photographer's Note

Aqua Claudia (Latin, literally "the Claudian water") was an aqueduct which like the Anio Novus was begun by Caligula in 38 A.D. and completed by Claudius in 52. Its main springs, the Caeruleus and Curtius, were situated 300 paces to the left of the thirty-eighth milestone of the Via Sublacensis. After being in use for ten years, the supply failed, and was interrupted for nine years, until Vespasian restored it in 71 and ten years later Titus once more. The channel length was 45-46 miles (ca. 69 km, most of which was underground) in different times and volume at the springs was 191,190 cubic metres in 24 hours. After building the Arcus Neroniani by Nero, one of the branches of the Aqua Claudia, the aqueduct could provide all 14 Roman districts with water. Directly after its filtering tank, near the seventh mile of the Via Latina, it finally emerged on to arches, which increase in height as the ground falls towards the city. It is also one of the two ancient aqueducts that flowed through the Porta Maggiore, the other being the Anio Novus.

Ciao Vinicio,
The light is settling over the aqueduct as a silky veil, and the atmosphere becomes incredibly romantic here. It looks like the photo of heaven! Amazing :)

Very romantic picture with lovely couple walking in this beautiful park, maybe just a little bit lack on the sky but the pastel colours created still give a peaceful feeling to see this panorama. Great work friend :-)

THe photo is amazing,
everything seems to complement everything else, the trees, the ponds, the people,
the only thing I would say is that you crop the photo as to get rid of the lonely peace of tree on the left

Immagine molto ben composta, con le linee verticali che contrastano con la linea dell'acquedotto che si perde nell'orizzonte. Piacevole la saturazione che hai dato alla foto. Bel lavoro.

scorcio fantastico dato dalle rovine e dalla luce molto morbida.
I due a passeggio sono la classica ciliegina sulla torta, perfetti in questa ambientazione.
Ad essere pignoli avrei croppato il fusto a sinistra, del tutto, e un altro pò di pozzanghera alla base.

Great framing of the artifical aquaduct within a natural archway of trees plus just a couple of people added for scale and to remind us this is human. The two different directions/paths is interesting as well, with the dirt track pointing one way, the aquaduct the other. Only problem is the diffuse light seems a bit funky.
