Fontana della Navicella (ROME)
On the Celio hills in front of the church of Santa Maria in Dominica also known as “in navicula”, with its ceiling containing small boats floating on the waters, restored by Cardinal Medici who became pope under the name of Leone X, is the fountain known as the Navicella or small boat, probably from an idea by Sansovino in the early part of the 16th century (1518-1519).
According to legend, a votive offering probably inspired the marble boat representing a Roman galley, by the sailors to Isis, the goddess protector of travellers. A jet of water rises from the centre of the bridge of the small boat placed on a base decorated with the coat of arms of Leone X and is collected into an oval travertine basin below.

Fontana della Navicella
Sul colle del Celio, davanti alla chiesa di Santa Maria in Dominica detta anche in navicula, restaurata dal cardinale Medici (che fu in seguito papa con il nome di Leone X) e sul cui soffitto compaiono diverse piccole imbarcazioni erranti tra i flutti, è la fontana detta della Navicella, ideata probabilmente dal Sansovino e risalente ai primi anni del Cinquecento (1518-19).
La navicella in marmo, rappresentante una galera romana, sarebbe ispirata, secondo la leggenda, a un ex voto offerto dai marinai a Iside, protettrice dei naviganti; dal centro del ponte della piccola nave che è posta su un basamento ornato con gli stemmi di Leone X, si innalza un getto d'acqua che si raccoglie nella sottostante vasca ovale di travertino

Bonjour Gorgio,
J'aurais bien voulu voir la même prise en mode paysage,cette photo me laissse un peu sur la faim,il y a comme un manque de petites partie,de la pelouse et son encadrement et du batiment en arrière plan,ou alors tu devait cacher certaines misères qui l'entoure.
belle netteté de l'ensemble accompagnée de couleurs agréables.
