The Forum Romanum was the center of life in Imperial Rome, evidenced by the many remains of triumphal arches, temples and basilicas. Today, the forum known as the Forum Romanum can look like a disorderly collection of ruins to the uninitiated, but with some imagination you can see the Roman Empire come back to life at this site. Remains of many buildings from different periods are visible. Source: aviewoncities.com

Amazing colors in this ancient place, and you captured all of the details so perfectly here! The thing that strikes me most in this is your portrayal of the Vittorio Emanuele monument behind. I know this is a building that has its detractors, and I was never quite sure what I thought of it, but it is perfect here! With all of these old columns and ruins, it stands there proud like a lone survivor from times past, and it looks like an excellent connection to the style back then.
Really unique shot, thanks for this.

I suppose this view from roughly this spot has been photographed a hundred thousand times before. And yet you manage to make it look quite fresh because of the great care you take in balancing the composition, using the right exposure, finding the perfect focus. It may not be a totally original photo, but the quality is impressive and probably far better than at least ninety nine thousand previous photos. And this terrific place is really worth being photographed over and over again.

Excellente photo du forum de Rome. Je trouve quand même que le monument à Vittorio Emanuele "pollue" le site mais tu l'as très bien intégré dans ta composition.

Witaj, Nuesamowite połączenie - ta biała "maszyna do pisania" w tle i antyczne ruiny. Ale taki jest właśnie Rzym. Znakomity kadr, piekne kolory.

Spectacular view from Rome, a beautiful iconic image with the impressive heritage of this city. Good catch!
ikeharel (72971) 2014-07-06 7:12
Monuments of Roma combined and well taken under bright daylight, Gosia.
White marble big edifice "rises" from behind the ancient ruins - contrast of "time's", well chosen the POV.

The history of this site is awe inspiring, and there are seemingly endless photo opportunities. I really like what you've done here to incorporate the past with the present, this is definitely a smart composition. So much detail and material to absorb in this single frame, it's almost overwhelming as a whole trying to process everything in this scene. :) Very well "built." Bright, clear and focused from top to bottom. enjoy the new week. All the best.

It's a very nice view of the ruin from Rome. The picture shows the part of the so called the "Wedding Cake", perfect in POV. Thanks for sharing.

I remember seeing this last year and it certainly impressive! I am wondering if that pink building is the Archaeological Museum, one of the few things I missed. Good sharpness colour and saturation. The War memorial at top right I thought was imopressive although it is not everyone's cup of tea. Tfs!

intrygujacy kadr. Z jednej strony skupiamy sie na pozostalosciach po Forum Romanum ale wzrok wedruje wyzej ku dobrze zachowanym budowlom.
Kontrast budynkow robi wrazenie. Kolorystyka, kadr oczywiscie wysmienite

That is a view covering millenia of roman architecture, from antique to recent.
Sharp, well exposed, the picture has so many details to look at.
Interesting and nice!
mursaloglu (8682) 2014-07-08 15:36
great composition and really meaning to be in Rome. Wonderful POV. Bravo
photoray (13981) 2014-07-08 16:32
I am attracted to your wide view of a portion of the Forum revealing ruins and also including more recent architecture rising above it all.
I was fortunate to memorize all the monuments within the Forum because it was the final exam essay question for my University Roman History class. And the Forum is on my 'must do list' when I visit Rome.
Thanks for sharing,

Hello Gosia. The old historic Rome is really something special. The architectural and cultural and historical treasures of this city are fantastic. The photo pleases me very well. The technical quality is excellent. Best composition and lighting.

You chose a great POV for this shot. The angle of the shot works well leading the eye nicely. The different styles of architecture is interesting and you have captured it well.

A well detailed picture with lots of interesting elements.
I like the view of the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument rising up behind the forum.
Excellent composition and depth.
Best regards, Paul

The majesty of Imperial Rome, I think you captured it beautifully. I think I might have wanted to do a little correction on the perspective, making the vertical sides more plumb, but the the positives far outweigh any negative.
adramad (46542) 2014-07-11 10:08
Fabulous this vertical composition, allowing us to see a large area of the Forum, as well as the monument to Victor Emmanuel, behind it.
The pine trees give a great touch as well as the beautiful sky, it's a great compliment.
A colorful perfect very natural.
A bright image with optimum clarity.
Good job. I like it
Enjoy a good weekend.

Cekawe miejsce dla archeologow.
Ruiny tez moga byc piekne.
Ladny kadr i kolorystyka.

A different and beautiful view of this site. The wide angle lens was a great tool to catch the forum and the Vittoriano, with a splendid light.
