Photographer’s Note

The most important meeting of the year for me, with my son Daniele (lele) :) A walk along the fields of the Vivaro Horse Center in a quite cold little morning. His versions of the meeting will be posted on TL.
In this photo you see a pond used as obstacle for the horses.

“Pratoni del Vivaro”: the Federal Equestrian Centre.

The Federal Equestrian Centre Pratoni del Vivaro is located between the municipalities of Rocca di Papa and Rocca Priora, near Rome on an area of 145 hectares.It had been built for the Olympic Games of Rome in 1960, to host the three-days- event competition.

The most important names of both national and international equitation have competed on its courses during the 47 years of eventing that marked its activity, classifying it among one of the best sport Centres owned by the Italian Olympic Committee (C.O.N.I.).

The Federal Equestrian Centre has been managed by F.I.S.E. since 1961, when it was chosen as training centre before the Tokyo Olympics, with the unforgettable cooperation of Marchese Fabio Mangilli. Since 2006 the Centre is owned by the F.I.S.E..

The Centre has an indoor school (20x60 metres) with a covered stand for the public, four jumping arenas (sand 80x90 and 40x75 metres and grass 80x110 and 85x100), two dressage arenas ( sand both 40x80 metres), one lunging area, one jumping lane, one horse-walker, one swimming pool, one steeple-chase track, a sand track of 1.300 metres, and up-hill sand track of 1.150 metres and two cross country areas. The stables are divided in blocks, each bearing the name of places where past Olympics have been organised: Monaco, Montreal, Rome, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Mexico. In addition the Centre has 240 boxes for the different competitions organised during the year .

The soil, thanks to its volcanic origin, maintains a perfect elasticity in summer as well as in winter. Together with the gentle slopes of Roman hills it provides an ideal site for three-day- events.

After the Rome Olympics in 1960, Pratoni has hosted the WEG in 1998 for three-day-event and Driving, 5 European Junior and Young Riders Championships, 2 Alpine Cup Championships, 2 European Pony Championships, a World Junior and Young Riders Championship of Endurance, a World Championship of Driving for Singles and many national Championships of all the disciplines..

About ten months before the Bejing Olympics, Pratoni del Vivaro, with its great equestrian tradition and in hosting these European Championships, draws the world’s attention to this very important test, where riders and horses already qualified will look for definitive confirmation while those who have not yet obtained the desired ticket for Hong Kong will risk everything to exploit this chance.

Ciao Vinicio. Risottolineo ciò che ha già fatto Silvio. Una notevole e convincente idea compositiva. Il primo piano è di una nitidezza da brivido. Affascinati i riflessi e assonanza perfetta tra colori.

Accidenti Vinicio,

una foto dalla nitidezza eccezionale! Hai scoperto il trucco per avere un "oversharpening"? A parte questa bellissima impressione di grande incisività e definizione mi piace molto come hai inquadrato il laghetto e i suoi riflessi. Una luce splendida anche se non diretta e sopratutto un'immagine molto suggestiva. Complimenti,

Entri profondamente con la nota nel tuo mondo, che ha caratterizzato spazi ed interessi da moltissimo tempo.
Riguardo alla foto, "mestieraccio" e genio e sono in certe persone così unite, vedi vecchi politici in auge, che è difficile capire.
Repubblica riportave che Obama usa il gobbo" por i discorsi, e faceva, un elenco di nostri politici, io avrei messo anche moltissimi sindacalisti, che vanno a braccio con sicurezza.
In questa foto ti preferirei genio.

Questo riflesso è bellissimo. Si trova bene l'atmosfera che descrivi di questa piccola mattina calma.
Mi piace l'offuscamento molto leggero che permette ai colori di fondersi l'una negli altri molto delicatamente.
Grazie per il link con la galleria di Lele (non ho tutto visto) ma ciò che ho visto è fantastico.

Una foto così intensa e nel contempo così dolce: questi tuoi riflessi nell'acqua sono magnifici. Ci sono poi (oh...eccomi!) i due mostri in primo piano. Il testone dell'uno, che emerge dall'acqua con la bocca semiaperta e golosa, con evidenti intenzioni di papparsi il serpente che gli sta a un palmo dl naso...E se non li vedi, tanto non li vedrà nessuno, pazienza...
La cosa bella, bellissima, é che tu abbia definito questo "meeting" con tuo figlio Daniele il più importante dell'anno. Io di figli (maschi) ne ho due e so perfettamente quello che intendi. Anche per me "quei" meetings sono assolutamente SPECIALI!

Che stravagante composizione; i tuoi scatti contengono sempre elementi di originalità, ma non segui tendenze o regole e le considerazioni di lettura sono sempre nuove. Questa tua foto prima di tutto è emozionale, perchè l'atmosfera è stata sintetizzata in postproduzione, colori e nitidezza catturano subito lo sguardo, stupisce la definizione di quella staccionata ma anche l'equilibrio tra luci e ombre. Bel lavoro.

Ciao Vinicio.
In gioventù ho montato a cavallo con modesti obiettivi e ancor piu' modesti risultati, questo per dirti che la tua nota mi ha riportato ai miti dell'equitazione, quando la scuola italiana aveva qualcosa da dire.
Sulla foto ti manifesto un moderato gradimento: il gioco delle prospettive e della messa a fuoco è ben riuscito e anche il gioco di luci sul laghetto è gradevole, ma la testa del paletto ampiamente mordicchiata dai quadrupedi che bazzicano il posto non è un soggetto che strappi l'applauso (per come tu porti a cadervi la nostra attenzione).
Ti direi che il pov potrebbe essere quello di un cavallo che si avvicina e intende proseguire a lavorarci di incisivi.

tutto il tuo meraviglioso stile espresso in questa immagine, pochi soggetti ma di una ricchezza infinita che appaga l'occhio e non solo. Stupendo contrasto tra il FG e il BG tra riflessi e colori piacevolmente saturati. Bravo, come al solito... :-)
