Photographer’s Note
Lido di Ostia is the seaside resort where Romans flee to when summer temperatures escalate in the city. In March things are very quiet. The beaches are deserted and most apartment buildings also. This building on a corner of the main boulevard of Lido di Ostia echoes this desertedness. It has the slightly dilapidated look of many seaside resorts off season. Peeling plaster, rusted railings. But the most dominant feature of this angular building is it’s will to hug the sun and be able to do that from every angle on every moment of the day.
Tech: skewed, cropped, saturated and sharpened.

A typical scene. It's a shame that these buildings have not been kept up in most places. That dilapidated look and the way everything is closed up, windows, doors, all of it, really gives the empty off-season feel. I'm thinking I might have cropped it a bit tighter on top to match the tight cropping on the bottom where the corner of the fence is. But still, it expresses the empty feel, like the beach has been forgotten.

There's something special about resorts off-season, and you have captured it well here. I like the paleness of the walls under that bright blue sky. Not sure I like the sign intruding on the left side of the frame though.

De architect moet toen reeds goede moderne ideeën gehad hebben om dit te laten realiseren. U heeft er een mooie foto rond gemaakt, de kleuren zijn zuiders en zacht.
