Photographer's Note

Lake Turano is a large hydroelectric reservoir (536 mt above sea level) created on the river bearing the same name with a dam constructed in 1939 near the town called Posticciola. The ten-kilometre long Lake Turano is connected to the Lake of Salto by a tunnel and feeds the electric power station at Cotilia.
It spreads out at the foot of Mt. Navegna (1,506ms), a wood-covered mountain separating the Valley of Salto from the Turano Valley and is characterised by the presence along its banks of ancient villages and castles reflected in its limpid waters.
The two main towns built near the lake (and shown in this photo) are Colle di Tora and Castel di Tora
