Photographer’s Note

The vicinity of Cormons, a town in western Gorizia, is dotted with miniscule churches. These churches were all built within the confines of ancient "cente" - rural rudimental defensive systems. The XIV century church on the photo is known as St. Apollonia. Its interior is richly decorated in XVI century frescoes.
