Lakes Fusine (LATS of Fusinis in Friuli [1], Weissenfelser Seen in German Belopeška jezera in Slovenian) consist of two lakes, Lake Superior and the Lower Lake, located in the municipality of Tarvisio, are considered among the finest examples of alpine lake.
The lakes of glacial origin, are placed in a limestone amphitheater created by the ridge of the peak of Mount Sonnenberg Mangart. The valley, which runs parallel to the Italian-Slovenian border, is a protected area since 1971, with the name of the Natural Park of the Lakes Fusine.

Lake Superior is located at 929 m above sea level, has a maximum depth of 10 m and an area of 9 ha, the lower lake is 924 m above sea level, has a maximum depth of 25 m and an area of 13.5 ha. Near the lake bottom are two other small ponds, small lakes called. Lake Superior feeds the Lower Lake by underground and it feeds the emissary of both lakes.

I Laghi di Fusine (Lâts di Fusinis in friulano[1], Weißenfelser Seen, in tedesco, Belopeška jezera in sloveno) sono costituiti da due laghi, il Lago Superiore ed il Lago Inferiore; situati sul territorio del comune di Tarvisio, sono considerati fra i più begli esempi di lago alpino.
I laghi, di origine glaciale, sono collocati in un anfiteatro calcareo creato dalla dorsale del Picco di Mezzodì del Monte Mangart. La valle, che corre parallela al confine italo-sloveno, dal 1971 è un'area protetta, con il nome di Parco naturale dei Laghi di Fusine.

Il Lago Superiore si trova a 929 m s.l.m., ha una profondità massima di 10 m ed una superficie di 9 ha; il lago inferiore si trova a 924 m s.l.m., ha una profondità massima di 25 m ed una superficie di 13,5 ha. Nelle vicinanze del lago inferiore si trovano anche altri due minuscoli specchi d'acqua, chiamati laghi piccoli. Il lago Superiore alimenta il lago Inferiore per via sotterranea e quest'ultimo alimenta l'emissario di entrambi i laghi.

A well chosen pov as the rustic fence leads the viewer's eye into the scene. The shot is full of strong colour and shows off the beauty of the area. An interesting and informative note as well.

You have magnifically composed and framed your picture. A pity the sky was not darker that day so you would have had a perfect exposition on all the picture.

hi marino,
this is a lovely view along the side of the lake. the colours are bright and appealing and you have acheived an excellent depth to the image from front to back. you have used the fencing and path well to lead the viewer through the image.

Ciao Marino, I think I was there but it was ages ago, in another century, in 1977. beautiful shot. It would be great to make a hing by this path along the lake.

Good morning Marino,
your photo is very nicely composed with good foreground and the path leading an eye. I like the wooden fence and the way it creates more interest in the photo. Very well balance colors, vivid and natural. Attractive light reflections on the water surface make the wholeness more lively.

un bellissimo scorcio friulano bella regione dove ho trascorso 10 bei mesi durante il servizio di leva nel lontano 1999
il piccolo sentiero conduce l'occhio il punto di finale del lago
belli i colori e il riflesso delle nuvole dell'acqua

Hello Marino,

You're capturing well this landscape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the calm lake with the reflection and surrounding rich greenery. It's impressive in the sequence of the green grove which is visible to the opposite shore of a lake, too. You catch well the promenade around the lake with the perspective. It will feel at ease, if we are in such a place.

Great point of view. The path, the fence and
the great composition creates a nice depth
(and the open water makes the picture nice
calmness) and the vertical position emphasize

This is a beautiful area it seems, full of serene nature and seem very quiet and peace, not too many people around, at least not from your image. I like you POV with lake leading one into the deeper part of the lake and forest beyond with so much greenery, Very inviting composition.

Carissimo Marino

Mi dispiace, sono poca presente su TE nei questi giorni, é ancora l'estate qui, quindi sono sempre in giro. Ma guarda questa foto, é bellissima. Mi piacciono molto i colori ricchi, la profonditá é come un rasioio e perfetto il scelto del taglio verticale. Ottimo lavoro e grazie per condividendo questo tesoro con noi.
