This neogothic castle was built in 1890 by Giacomo Ceconi near a very little village called Pielungo in Arzino valley, in Pordenone mountains.
Ceconi was born in 1833 from Pielungo a very poor family. When he was 18 he went to Trieste to study in a master builder class. He was very clever and he got very important works in Slovenia, Austria and Hungaria. He became a great building contractor and he built in 1833 Vorarlberg tunnel: for this work Emperor Fran Josef made him a count.
In 1890 he built his castle near his home village; he built also other works in his homeland: a road called "Regina Margherita" , and some schools.
He died in 1910.
