Photographer’s Note

Redipuglia (GO), from the Slovene "sredij polije" that is means earth "is the greatest Italian Military Memorial and came realized on plan of the architect Giovanni Greppi and the scultore Giannino Castiglioni. Inaugurated in 1938, it guards the emains of 100.000 fallen of the Great War.
At the end of the Via Eroica rise the grave and solemn steps, guardians, in alphabetical order from the bottom to the top, of the remains of the 40.000 known soldiers who fell during the war, and whose names are inscribed in individual plaques of bronze.
