Photographer’s Note
Redipuglia (Sredipolje) near the town of Gorizia (Gorica, Goerz) in Italy is famous for its monumental cemetery, the final resting place for some 100.000 italian soldiers who died during the sanguinous battles on the Isonzo (Soca) river front during the WWI. Built in 1938, it is the biggest military cemetery in the area. The names of more than half of the dead buried there remain unknown...

Well done to post this picture of Redipuglia. It is a fine, very sad monument. When I was a child every time I visited this cemetery I wept.
