I am experimenting with black and white, and the woods in autumn are a good place to do so, though a bit cliché. the sun filters through the trees. it is too centered, maybe but I liked it this way.
This picture was taken in a terse, beautiful, freezing cold november day, in the early afternoon in the regional park of 'Corno alle scale'.
I want to post some pics as there is only one from this beautiful area on trek earth.
Corno alle Scale
It is the tallest mountain in Bologna's region (1944m above sea level), it is a popular holiday area for both skying in winter and its many hiking trails and nice climate in summer. It is a regional park. The mountain has a funny name meaning 'horn at the stairs'. The woods in the picture are close to the Dardagna waterfalls, around 1350m above sea level.
turned grey scale, altered contrast a bit. unsharpen mask radius 1, 40%.

I really like this! It sort of has a 'Blair Witch' fell to it. Perhaps the black & white gives is a spooky ambience! Regards, Doug

I must agree with Doug, this photo really has the feeling of "The Blair Witch Project" over it.
I believe the colour version woulden't be very good, but converting it like this to B&W really makes the difference.
A cold wet place...just trees and the pale sun shining through the trees in the distance.
Your conditions seem optimal, perfect amount of light to get the correct amount of illumination.
Thank you for sharing.
