Photographer's Note

For me the sound of bells is a special attraction. Yesterday, just following that sound, I arrived in the small village of Montasico, close to Marzabotto.

What I have found is a number of people just enjoing in playing the 4 bells in the tower of the church. I have understood this activity is reviving in the area of Bologna's hills.

Montasico was founded around the 11th century and was owned by various noble families for the presence of a castle where owners still live.

The church was built around the 12th century, but the tower is more recent.

The 4 bells have a very clear sound and have been casted by Mr. Clemente Brighenti on 1875.

Today's inhabitants of Montasico: No. 11
