Italians refer to Bologna as “the erudite, the red and the fat.”
Bologna “the erudite,” because it is home to one of the oldest universities of the world.
Bologna “the red,” because of the vivid color of the roofs and buildings.
Street after street, every Bologna arcade is a different architectural experience. Some arcades sport elegant columns and marble walking surfaces. Some peer through decades of city dust and grime that cover the decorative patterns. Others, like this one here, have interestingly colourful pillars.

Yes, Bologna has some of the worlds longest and most beautiful porticos. And Bologne was also called 'red' Bologna because of the students movements in the historic universities here.
These aside, this is a finely taken photograph.
The colours of the pillars, the differnt shades in different angles of light, the play of contrast and exposure of the columns of light - between the pillars is facinating. This makes the POV / Composition very significant.
Thankyou for sharing a well taken photograph.

there's not completely true what you wrote: bologna is called the erudite because of the university - it's called red not only for its roof...but for having always been a "politically red" city (with communist and post-communist majors)
colourful?? yes, here you are right as well....

Great capture! I did not recognize the hallway until I saw the note that this is form Bologna. I do remember walking on this crowded place, busy people, students sitting on the corners, etc. Now this looks quite attractive seeing it clean and clear. Brilliant lighting and excellent handling on the exposure is the key. Beautiful colors and great POV!
Have a great day,

nice DOF and wonderful colours. The incoming light gives a hard contrast and supports the high DOF. TFS, best regards, F.

Not only you've created a fine perspective but also played well with the exposure. The exposure is difficult especially we see the vaulted ceiling at FG top pretty low in light white full bright light filters through the columns. The red & yellow colours are appealing as well. Good work!

Très réussit exercice de profondeur et éclairage.
Ce n'est pas évident de réusir une composition comme celle ci entre ombre et luimère, bravo!
