Naples cityscape Photo

Photographer’s Note

A late summer holiday along the whole of the west coast of Italy brought us to Naples. This view from near Naples Castle really showed how densley populated the city really is.

The contrast and sharpness were enhanced in Photoshop and cropped tightly to remove the greener, less dense suburbs that could be seen in the distance. This also removed the more bleached out distant views and retained a more even colour balance.

Interesting view with a lot of details to explore. I like how the three larger L-shaped buildings, one in the middle and two in the background are keeping the composition in check.

colored roofs always make great pics. I like the asymetrical urbanism plans, it makes more interesting shots than just perpendiculaire streets.. but it must be hard to be oriented in those streets.
Good thight cropping and postprocessing.

Very busy scene but with a great PoV and a good DoF to retain lots of detail. The wide variety of colours on the roofs and the fact that these city streets are anything but straight make for a somewhat chaotic but interesting scene.

I like that picture very much...although I feel like I'm missing something; I would have liked to get a closer look at some parts of that city. That being said, very good composition.

Great abstract, yet real image. The city, the information about the place, its history although present through its architecture, becomes something else in this photograph. It is transformed in an abstract and interesting image to look at. Congrats.

Great image of the city where I was born.
I recognize still most of the buildings/streets.
Nice flattening of the perspective and still a nice sharp DOF.

This picture is putting the emphasy on the density of streets, great variety of building shapes but at the same time with some common architectural rules, colours, materials, which make the whole a typicaleuropean town of the past, those which I like. Sharp and interesting !

Excellent view of Naples. I like the richness of the typical Italian colours. The streets look so narrow. I like the tight framing.
