Photographer’s Note
ENGLISH: "Napule E" is the title to a song by Neapolitan singer Pino Danieli. My colleague from TE, Jeppo has encouraged me to think of Soundtracks to the various photos we take. And therefore, whilst looking at this amazing city from the heights of Vomero, this beautiful song kept playing in my mind. It's really worth a listen. So I dedicate this photo to my friend Jeppo.
In the left FG the dome you see is Santa Chiaia, which, next to the Church of San Gennaro, would be one of Naples' finest churches.
NB: I took this shot with my "point & shoot" camera, so the quality is definitely not the best. Naples is one of my favourite cities in the world, but it is pretty dangerous. To walk around it with an expensive DSLR and lens, is just asking for trouble.

Hi Lisa,
Tightly buils city structure is well presented from this high viewpoint. Nice variation of harmonous brown tones. Church dome is well placed as a main focal point.

Hi Lisa,
Good POV, although the image does look like it needs a bit more level adjustment particularly contrast. May I draw your attention to the workshop.
Glad I'm back?????

Hello Lisa,
Nice roof landscape. Interesting point of view, showing only roofs with no sky. It works.
I was about to make a WS because the renderiing was a bit flat, but I noticed it was already done and nicely by someone else. I let you see.
Yves.

Hi Lisa,
Great roofscape. The scene looks so busy, yet at the same time so tranquil. I like :) However, then I noted that pesky Wallmeister is back and upping the ante on contrasting issues :( I like both yours and the WS - however if it comes to blows I must support Team IW. :))

Hi,
I made the same choice in Naples, I used my compact, even if I never felt in "dangerous" situations. Great POV, spectacular architectural details.
Well done!

Yes Pino Danieli, I have forgotten him a little but we had these summers when we all listened to Italian singers and still do of course, very much so. One thing I love about living in Europe, all these different languages when you click on the radio. Beautiful view over Napoli, quite a "few" houses down there, what a melting pot. Impressive photo indeed. It is years when I was in Napoli, guess I have to return. Have a great week, Barbara.

hi Lisa,
funny, just yesterday I started compiling different playlists for different moods and photos, I guess great minds think alike, lol :)
I like the photo a lot, the incredible population density screams "Old Europe", there are very few places in the world where you can actualy see layers of history one on top of another. I don't see any major problems with quality (there might be a slight tilt to the left though), and I like the tight framing that emphasises how crowded the place is.
best,
Kristine

Hello Lisa!
Typical view of NAPLES!
Sharpness, exposure and natural colors are excellent here too!
The high privileged pov helps a lot to create this attractive urban sight!
Composition is simple but quite effective, with wonderful visual results! Yes, we have a very good idea of the urban web of that city!
TFS - congratulations!

Ciao Lisa,
bella vista su Napoli, ma l'immagine soffre di luminosità e pende leggermente sulla sinistra.
Ti ho fatto un WS dove cerco di risolvere questi due problemi.
Fammi sapere cosa ne pensi.

Hi Lisa.
Great shot of these earthy red roofs, with the many shallow diagonals made by the layout of the streets. The dome of the Santa Chiaia is superbly placed near the corner, making a great focal point. I noticed a couple more domes near the upper right corner, and that green roof looks like another large church. It's pretty sharp for a compact camera, really. Good choice to exclude the sky from this one.
I've wanted to vist Naples for a long time, and Sicily. After 4 trips to Italy I still haven't done it.
Regards,
Andrew
