Paestum is the classical Roman name of a major Graeco-Roman city in the Campania region of Italy. It is located in the north of Cilento, near the coast about 85 km SE of Naples in the province of Salerno, and belongs to the commune of Capaccio, officially also named Capaccio-Paestum.
Founded around the end of the 7th century BC by colonists from the Greek city of Sybaris, and originally known as Poseidonia. Outside of archaeological evidence very little is known about Paestum during its first centuries. Archaeological evidence indicates that the city was expanding with the building of roads, temples and other features of a growing city.

Hi hartmut, thanks for showing this amazing piece of architecture. Of the many times I have been to Campania, I have never seen Paestum. It truly is amazing. Nice POV with amazing details in the architecture. My compliments, Lisa.

Nice shot of this classic architectural beauty.
Outstanding colors. Nice sharpness.
Personally I'd have shot not including the person in the foreground.

très jolie vue et belle composition avec une bonne présence du personnage pour nous donner une idée de la taille de cette architecture. Belle image.

A beautiful and very impressive ruin! Your inclusion of a person is very good as you add some colours and a certain depth and a sense of proportions! Very good note!

Very imposing, old architecture, and the person entering the shot emphasises the scale. Good light management with plenty of detail captured.

You've chosen an excellent vantage point to present this fabulous image of the Temple of Hera, I believe, in Paestum. I saw it in 2004 and was astonished by the level of preservation.

Hello Hartmut, Amazing that these extraordinary temples are still standing after so many years. I like the clarity & natural looking colours, good POV I think it accentuates the hight of the building, the person in FG for me it is not a problem but the opposite it adds life & scale.

J'aime cette photo avec ce temple d'architecture gréco-romaine. La visiteuse donne l'échelle. Belle réalisation !
