Photographer’s Note
ENGLISH: This was taken at sunset. Unfortunately with the slow shutter speed, the sunbathing lads in the BG are not sharp (asking boys to keep still is always impossible :). I realise the lack of sharpness was also contributed to by a technical mistake I made in using an aperture of f/18. In hindsight, the most I should have used was f/9 or f/11. I will know better next time, as I am DEFINITELY going back to this beautiful place.

Hello Lisa
Them rocks look super against the smooth water and the clarity excels, while the purple tones are super.
Well done

Ciao Lisa,
excellent view of Vico Equense, good choice of timing.
I disagree on using less aperture that could have more speed giving a different mood on the water that now is producing a very interesting effect.
Very well done.

Hello Lisa
You've done a great choice here by using a long exposure. The result is outstanding.
The pastel colors are marvelous and soften the expanse of rocks.
Great quality, the fine quality reveals all the textures.
Very good work, and funny title ;o)

Hello Lisa,
Intersting shot indeed. It is typically the kind of photo which are strong to manage on TE because of the small size. This kind of photo is the one to be looked in large size.
For your comment, you are right. The 5D must not be used (to get the best rendering in sharpness and definition) above f/13: after, the diffraction is playing too much. Too increase exposure, you can use polarizer adding 2 stops and special filter as full Neutral grey from 3 stops to 10 stops. But in this way, it is difficult to manage the people to stay not moving :-)
To come back to the photo, very good composition. I like the way you used the stones with white pattern to drive the look up to background.
Yves.

Hi Lisa.
Yes, you probably didn't need such a small aperture even for the required DOF in this one. You must have propped the camera on something to get this one. A larger aperture would have enabled a faster speed which would have made the water less milky. I know a lot of people like that effect, although I prefer to see it look sharp. What I really like is the composition and the magenta colour tone in the top third of the picture. It's a lovely spot alright.

Andrew

Hi Lisa,
the three seconds make the difference. The effect on the water is really good. I also find the vertical framing very apropriated. Well done!

Ciao Lisa,
uno stile inconfondibile il tuo, quello di creare l'effetto seta nell'acqua.
Mi piace la tonalità magenta del cielo, in contrasto con la roccia.
Well done!

Ciao Lisa,
despite the sharpness of the BG it is a very good image. The smooth colours and the light at the stones are giving a special mood.
Have a nice week

PS: driving on the right side of the street is not so difficulty. I drove many, many miles at the for us unusual left side. It takes only a few minutes to get accustomed to it.

Lisa,
This is a great shot! Your composition is fine with the inclusion of the rocks in the foreground giving the scene a wonderful sense of depth. The slight blur of the water is nice and makes the rocks appear even more crisp. The lighting and colors are great as well. It would have been better without the sunbathers!

ciao Lisa,

You love playing with the movement of the seas/oceans and time. A 3secs exposure has given a mysterious quality to the sea. Great contrast of the "milky" sea and the extra sharp rocks. Regards. Klaudio.

Well Lisa,
You seemed to have recogised the f-stop issue so no need for me to provide my expertise in this area :))
But I can say; nice verticle, nice location, nice colours, nice a lot of things (as attested by the TE people here).
Kind Regards,
Graham.

Beautiful shot. The composition is really nice. The rocks in the foreground lead the eye through the scene in a very pleasing manner, and the aperture has captured very nice detail in the rocks, which contrasts nicely with the softness of the water. Well done.

Hi Lisa,
very nice light and colors.
I like especially the effect in the foreground. The water is moving and yet you can look through it.
Excellent composition, too.
