This is the glorious Bay of Naples at sunset, "tramonto" in the Italian language. I took this from the balcony of where we were staying in the town of Vico Equense, Naples. You can see the Island of Capri to the right of the sun.
Even though it is for the opposite time of day, my suggested soundtrack is Sunrise by Norah Jones

Almost like you are playing hide and seek with the sun, and you just caught is peeping over the horizon. Aw man, how lucky you are to have gotten a room with a view like this, for both the natural relaxation and the inner shutterbug that knows to capture a moment like this forever. The warm tones are really beautiful and in great contrast to the blue of the sea. Love the composition on thirds too, perfectly done.
Hope you're having a good Saturday :)

Howdy Napili Lisa,
Fine sunrise view across the ink blue water to the Isle of Capri with orange sun rising to wake up the day.
I dream of sailing the Mediterranean someday, until then I can dream by viewing Trekie images.
Thanks for sharing,
PS: Our National Wilderness Act celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. There are more than 110 million acres protected with a big chunk of them in California.

Naples! Oh Naples!
Oh I can't wait to post my Naples photos for you!
can you feel my excitement? can you feel the anticipation?
well...not quite yet, still working on my photos. In fact i've only JUST started on Istanbul and only a few 'choice' shots like my shipwreck (%@*&% shipwreck)
After having spent time in Naples now, I can see why you love it so much. It certainly has that grit, grime and tough-love sort of vibe, yet also has beauty, history and elegance.
here's some of that beauty and elegance.
Tosca would enjoy this as well.
Easy to see why you'd want to post it.
about that Banana Hammock photo on Facebook...ahem...
what the hell was that? lol
I'm STILL having nightmares and soon following will be Post Tramautic Stress Disordeer!
How do those things stay on!
omg...i feel another terror attack coming on

Ciao cara Lisa,
Sorry I've not been doing very much critiquing on TE recently and I suspect that I've missed a few great shots from you too. Not long back from a fine TE meeting in the Peak District of England with some good pals - great camaraderie and lots of fun but pretty grim and dismal weather. Two new additions to our little group - Claude (CLODO) and Jasmine (Tigerlily) - both lovely people and great fun too.
Anyway, Lisa, another fabulous and rather romantic photograph from the place of your Italian roots - so simple in composition and with lovely light and colours - I can just imagine sitting with a loved one, sipping a glass of wine and looking out at this amazing view!
An excellent composition with glorious light, textures and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
P.S. How on Earth do you get away with no lens flare? That always seems to plague me any time I try to shoot directly inoto the sun.

Lovely sunset perfectly captured, colors for the sky and the sea are very pleasant, well made.

I like the narrow crop Lisa and the placement of the sun dead centre. But what I really like is the circular lens flare. A feature we normally try and avoid here it adds mood to your shot. A magical moment!

fascinating sunrise with attractive colors you captured.

A perfect moment, even better if you have a capucino in one hand and a corneto in the other. But then, no hand for the camera. What the heck there will be a tomorrow.
Have a great day

Bellissima nostra Napoli nell'alba!Mi piace i colori ed riflesso della luce solare che creano un effetto particolare. Complimenti!

Ciao cara Lisa, You return to your beloved place again and again. Beautiful sunrise in the Napoli Bay. I have no plans for any trips, with many ideas, very different, coming to my mind. Maybe Italy?

Writing this while listening gave a whole diff. feel to view this picture, Lisa.
Well chosen song, and a capture of the sun fire-ball half way in the water.
*** See my mail to you, please.

back to your italian roots!
Very minimalist, but eye catching, making think of quiet holidays, having a glass in hand and contempling with seascape as the sun disappears behind what looks like a volcano!

Nice view for a romantic moment
Very good frame quality and good lights management
