Photographer's Note
In memoriam Scrappy -- late inhabitant of "Il Porto," a wild canyon just outside Positano, Italy. "Il Porto" was discovered as a neglected, denuded place of potential beauty by the Australian artist Vali Myers, who brought it back to life over decades, partly thanks to a pack of semi-wild dogs that kept hunters and other marauders away. It is now stunningly beautiful. The artist/poet Gianni Menichetti, companion of the deceased Vali Myers, now lives there and continues in her spirit. For a short video showing this remarkable place, see http://youtu.be/NaH1nAGd47A.
