BASILICA THE HOLY SPIRIT NAPLES
The Basilica Of The Holy Spirit is a basilica of Naples; you are situated in front of the Doria Palace In Angri.
The temple was built in the half of the XVI century by the congreghe of the white ones and the green ones, so called for street of the worn suits; the building of the Complex Of The Holy Spirit, happened in consequence of the pulling down of the previous structures that ospitatavano also buildings for the prostitutes and poor mans children.
The primitive project owes yourself to Cafaro Pignaloso. To the enrichment of the cult building, artists intervened as Luigi Rodriguez and Giovan Bernardo Azzolino, whose creations are lost and destroyed goings. In 1758, the basilica was rearranged under the direction of Mario Gioffredo.
The inside of the church is formed by a nave wide only one, with dome and stand. To the right and the left of the entry, (sculptural Michelangelo Naccherino works) are to admire the two funereal monuments of Ambrose Salvio and Paolo Spinelli . Further Naccherino works are rented also in the fourth chapel.
The temple is inolte enriched by paintings of Francesco De Mura (apse) and Fedele Fischetti (altar of the transetto right), to mention also the valuable Fabrizio Santafede paintings.
The façade is sober and impressive; one of the most elegant domes of the town control .

La Basilica dello Spirito Santo è una basilica di Napoli; è sita di fronte al Palazzo Doria d'Angri.
Il tempio venne eretto nella metà del XVI secolo dalle congreghe dei Bianchi e dei Verdi, così chiamate per via degli abiti indossati; la costruzione del Complesso dello Spirito Santo, avvenne in seguito all'abbattimento delle strutture precedenti che ospitatavano anche edifici per i figli delle prostitute e dei poveri.
Il primitivo progetto si deve a Cafaro Pignaloso. All'arricchimento dell'edificio di culto, sono intervenuti artisti come Luigi Rodriguez e Giovan Bernardo Azzolino, le cui creazioni sono andate perdute e distrutte. Nel 1758, la basilica fu rimaneggiata sotto la direzione di Mario Gioffredo.
L'interno della chiesa è formato da un'unica vasta navata, con cupola e tribuna. Alla destra e alla sinistra dell'ingresso, sono da ammirare i due monumenti funebri di Ambrogio Salvio e di Paolo Spinelli (opere scultoree di Michelangelo Naccherino). Ulteriori opere di Naccherino sono locate anche nella quarta cappella.
Il tempio è inolte arricchito da dipinti di Francesco De Mura (abside) e Fedele Fischetti (altare del transetto destro), da citare anche i pregevoli dipinti di Fabrizio Santafede.
La facciata è sobria ed imponente; la domina una delle più eleganti cupole della città.

What a breathtaking view !
The point of view is incredible to show the richness of the neapolitan architecture and you've apparently chosen the perfect moment to capture this great light to bring the warm colors out.
The perfect quality of your shot, the fine sharpness, reveals many details and the work on the colors is marvelous.
The square format is also an excellent choice.

Ti stavo aspettando MAESTRO!
Altra bella veduta della bella Napoli, con in primo piano la cupola tutta argento della basilica dello Spirito Santo.
Ottima definizione e gestione delle luci.

Rimanendo in tema di chiese, oggi ho chiuso la mia lunga serie dedicata alle chiese siciliane.

Beautiful textures and centuries of detail you've captured in this image.
I like the way you have positioned the lighter patch of light in your composition. It dictates the focal point of the image, the Basilica.

Hello Giorgio,
The tight cropping in onto the structures has created an abstract view of the old city.....it's really a mosaic of colours. The tones of brick red, yellow and beiges seem to be nicely spread throughout the photo which tends to pull the eye from one area to the next. The dome plays an important part in the composition, as it contrast all the stright lines of the other buildings. Clarity is excellent and it allows the viewer to study the textures of the walls.Very nicely done.

Caro Giorgio,
per me è sempre difficile riuscire a cogliere la bellezza di una città, di un palazzo o di una chiesa, riprendendola dall'alto. E' come se tutto perdesse un po' l'anima e si perdesse tra le coperture cittadine.
Tu, invece, sei riuscito a dimostrarmi che è possibile rendere meravigliosamente un soggetto, ponendolo in evidenza tra il corollario degli edifici che gli stanno intorno.

E' curioso come le tecniche digitali di questi anni diano la possibilitò al fotografo di esprimersi piu' liberamente e variamente, rompendo il diaframma che divide le arti figurative tradizionali con la fotografia.
Questa foto è un magnifico impasto di architetture e colori, tutti tipicamente capitolini, ben serrati un un formato quadrato molto adatto al soggetto.
Bel colpo.

ottima veduta aerea dal Castel S.Elmo, si può notare come era facile, in epoche passate, dominare dall'alto tutta Napoli ed eventualmente puntare i cannoni.
Mi piacciono molto i colori e la nitidezza della foto, bravissimo

Ciao Giorgio, mi soffermerei più su questa che sulla Spaccanapoli gia ammirata anche nel post di Silvio.
Estrema nitidezza su tutti i piani dal primo all'ultimo.
Colori sapientemente contenuti senza eccessiva saturazione e POV molto ben studiato.

a perfect crop for a square format, there is many fine details to look at, no building is disturbing, all is well matched, so i guess the POV is best as possible and your choice of close framing is excellent,

peccato che la basilica non abbia lo spazio necessario per affermarsi la sua grandiositá. Sebbene i colori sono simili, la differenza tra l' architettura (un po' caotica, mi semra) di Napoli e quella di Roma é palpabile.
