Photographer’s Note
The Church of Gesù Nuovo is the most important Church built by Jesuits in Naples.
The construction of the church began in 1584 on the area of Renaissance Sanseverino Palace, and it still retains the splendid facade with its "diamond point bugnato" finish.
The facade was built in 1470 by Novello da San Lucano.
The volcanic piperno stones with their bugnato finish are the work of "Master piperno-masons" who were part of powerful and secret society that handed down the art of cutting Campanian stones, from Roman times, under oath by the apprentices.
I like this photo, because it resembles me old copper engravings.

Hi Jalab,
Nice picture with good graphic effect and framing. The roccoco details around the door constrast well with the piramidal walls. It's a little too monotone, for a B&W but I'm not sure how you could had done better... maybe the colour version or more contrast... but I'm not sure.
Regards,
Flavia
