Photographer’s Note
Here's another photo from my trip to Calabria. Like the last post, I took this one with a measly 2.2 mp camera, and it still came out great, thanks primarily to how photogenic the town of Tropea is. It's built literally on the side of a cliff, and in the picture you can see the arches that have been constructed to support the buildings above them. Tropea is truly a gem on the Tyrrhenian Sea - a must see if you're ever in Calabria.

This is a beautiful place. You have a good eye to have spotted the beauty of these colorful houses along these impressive cliffs. It makes for a beautiful shot. I would recommend an increase in contrast, a sharpen, a slight rotation, and a frame to make this a really stunning shot. (I worked one for you, but I'm out of postings for the day).

Great perspective capture here, Kevin. Very expansive view and feeling. Muted colors compliment the subject.

We humans are a funny lot! Imagine going to all the effort to build this town on the cliff-top where it ha the most difficult access to the sea (which is, no doubt, where most of the inhabitants worked).
It does make for a truly spectacular setting but I always remember the definition of a cliff -- an erodING hilside -- not an easy place to stay put.
This photo, along with the note, has (clearly) taught me something about our world. It's a TRUE TrekEarth contribution, thanks.
