Photographer’s Note
Had planned to visit Matera before travelling but never imagined that the town would be so impressive. This was taken around midday so the shadows are minimal and it is the windows that provide the contrast. The town is perched on the side of a gorge, this means you can get a full view of the old homes cut into the rock. Definitely worth a trip.
