Photographer’s Note
This massive door is over 4 metres tall and was originally on the outside entry of this old cathedral built beside the sea at Trani, just up the coast from Bari city. Apparently at the time, metals of all sorts were very valuable, so to include so much in one door was a sure sign of the wealth of this region, at the time an important part of the world trade routes. The influence of the Arabs and the Moors are everywhere here. Like stepping back in time.

Hi Murray
Good repetition of the recurring motiffs on the old door, & if you look closely, you'll notice that they are not all the same. Adequate sharpness, with good textural details on the ornate carvings. Tfs!

Considering the dimensions of the door it was probably not easy to fit it in the frame. You have managed to show plenty of detail in the intricate patterns, hand holding with a slow shutter speed.
