Photographer’s Note
Global Warming is a Catastrophe Coming!
We already know the causes - humankind's unfettered burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas.
We already know some of the impacts - the melting of polar ice caps, rising oceans, severe droughts, the spread of pestilence, massive flooding, coral bleaching and surging storms.
We already know who will be hit hardest - coastal countries, island nations, and underdeveloped regions like Southeast Asia.
For years we have been releasing more and more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels like, coal, gas and oil. This has greatly increased world's natural blanket, leading to rising global temperatures and deadly and unpredictable changing climates.
Only a systematic and drastic reduction of greenhouse gas emissions can prevent climate change from wreaking more damage to the earth's ecosystems and its peoples.
Some lines adapted from United Nations Climate Change Conference - Bali, 3 - 14 December 2007.
Hope you share these ideas and like this photo.

Bravo Stella. Wonderful photo with amazing colors and light.
The coming storm looks a little bit frightening, but the nature and special the sea is always like that. One moment looks lovely and the next moment...
A little bit like the women.
You are right about the climate changes. Everybody knows that except those who has to know because they have the biggest responsibilities for these changes.
What can I say? I hope the people will wake up one day, before it will be to late.
I wish you a nice week end

Ciao Stella!
Ciao e buona domenica

Hello Stella,
A great atmosphere to this fine composition. One can sense the approaching storm from the unusual lighting conditions that have given the sea and eerie turquoise glow. I like the angle of view and the sight of the ships far out at sea. Excellent tones and clarity.

Hello Stella,
December 14 was a day of photographic bounty for you at the sea shore. I missed this beautiful shot you posted on December 15, but did catch the one on December 16, Beethoven's 237th birthday. I do share your concerns about global warming; for years I've preached about the necessity for nuclear fusion — inexhaustible, non-polluting (ten billions years worth of energy from the heavy hydrogen in the oceans), and with no possibility of a meltdown as in nuclear fission. The only problem is that it is incredibly difficult to achieve. If there is a scientific and engineering mobilization, such as took place with the Manhattan Project and the Apollo Project, we can achieve it within 15-30 years after we start. Unhappily, in the United States congressmen get elected for two year-stints, and senators for six. Hopefully, our children and grandchildren will one day benefit from the technology, before we burn any more fossil fuels.
Notwithstanding the fact that this is an exquisite photograph. You do live in a Suburb of Paradise, Stella.

A beautifull image, with many interesting things. It is very graphical, with the different lines of the breach, the waves and the tow colors and the sea. There ere also the two ships in the background. And finally there is this terrific curtain of rain, I believe, coming form the right as to announce the coming of the storm.
All the best,
Emmanuel
