Photographer’s Note
Approaching Brindisi from the sea you will see the Aragonese Castle, better known as Alfonsino Castle or Red Castle which was built in 1484 on the S.Andrea island opposite the port, by the Duke of Calabria, Alfonso d'Aragona, in defence of its city, against possible sea attacks.
For many centuries, it has been utilized for this purpose. It is made up by two distinct parts: the Red Castle, so named for the distinct and characteristic purplish colors of its bricks who is unusual for the fact it conceals a small internal pier, and the Fortress, built afterwards, which still stands towering next to the Castle today, as a depot housing the garrison.
It was raining a bit.
See in the ws a satellite view.
Hope you'll enjoy it.

Ciao Stella,
ieri ho dimenticato di menzionare questo castello, era prima del martini con le olive ! Molto bella questa con i colori di pastello, ha anche un equilibrio perfetto, si vede non troppo e non troppo poco.
Ciao Christian

Ciao Stella, the theme is wonderful, I like the the way you captured it, you placed it very good, i like it there in the middle of the framed.
The lightness is also very good and the sky is good written.
Best wishes.

Good evening Stella.
That what I like to your photo is the contrast between the colors. The yellow against the blue and all of these under a colorful and a little bit bluish sky.
The only thing I would had change is to cut down a little bit the sea.
I made a WS to saw you what I mean.
Best regards

Hi Stella!
A very nice and different castle. I like the shot, a long catsle separating the sea from the sky. In spite of the rain the light was very good.
Have a nice weekend!

Hello Stella,
A very good presentation of the inteminably long castle. It give a good sense of the scale. I wonder if the Alfonsino Castle is at all connected with the site of the Alfonsine tables, generated around this time that could explain the periods of the planets with extraordinary accuracy, but with a geocentric, rather than heliocentric model. Indeed, they worked better than the concentric circles that Copernicus invoked for the planetary model (of course the real trajectories are ellipses.)
I am happy to see that your 100th post is gaining the recognition that it so richly deserves.
Warm regards,
Buletn

Ciao Stella,
bellissimi i toni caldi della luce sulle mura del castello. Mi piace anche il modo in cui divide cielo e terra.
Brava!
Gio
