Photographer’s Note

Going to work this morning I've thought to do this photo of this beautiful church near my home, while an airplane was crossing the sky over the church (it is infact, near to Brindisi airport).

The Chiesa (church) of Santa Maria del Casale (end 13th century/beginning 14th century), considered Brindisi's most important medieval structure, is a short distance from town (3km/2mi). It is an attractive example of Gothic-Romanesque architecture with a beautiful doorway and geometric patterns in multicolored stone (worked in two shades of sandstone pietra bianca and carparo) on the façade, with excellent Byzantine and 14th century frescoes by Rinaldo da Taranto inside, depicting allegorical scenes relating to the Day of Judgement.

In this church was celebrated the trial to the Templari Knights of Puglia and Calabria, the only one ended without death sentences.

Hope you like it.

In the ws another image before the airplane passed.
