Photographer’s Note

This tree stands alone in this spot which is just a little spit of land, a jetty more or less, that sticks into the bay across from Brindisi harbour to Adriatic sea.

You used to be able to go onto the jetty but they recently replaced the fencing and gates, due to strong winds in the past days, which now extend into the water preventing access, unless you don't mind getting wet to get there.

Hello Stella,
The tree looks splendid against the lovely sunset sky with its beautiful warm tones. The soaring bird contributes much to the mood of the shot and is well included. Excellent sharpness to bring out the detail in the lace like branches.

Bonjour, chère Stella,
Arbre solitaire, fier malgré l'absence de feuillage abondant, il prend la douce lumière et étale majestueusement ses branches nues semblant implorer le ciel de le vêtir au printemps prochain d'une belle parure.
Jolie composition avec cet oiseau survolant avec grâce les hautes herbes.

una dolce luce pomeridiana rende morbidi i rami ancora dormienti di questo alberello. L'uccello che si allonotana conferisce dinamicità alla scena. Bella !

Ciao Stella,
di solito a quest'ora mi dico che è troppo tardi per scattare ancora, a meno di non aspettare la blue hour. Invece mi hai fatto cambiare idea con questa profusione di "non colori". Bellissima la composizione, come pure la vignette che dà dinamismo al cielo.
D'istinto la intitolerei "La partenza" perchè è l'idea che mi suggerisce l'uccello in volo (dall'albero?).

The stark lone tree looks beautiful against the soft bule sky that is wonderfully complimented by the golden tones of the tall winter grass. The single gull adds effective scale to this lovely somber late winter landscape.

Nice colors with a red dominent on the vegetation, and a good sharpness for the tree. I also like the different shades of blue in the sky.

Hello Stella,

Well done. This is not only a wonderful shot, it's a very good demonstration of the Fibonacci sequence in the branches of the tree. The bird is, of course, topping on the cake, elevating the image from a 9.5 to a 10.0. The timing, composition, resolution ... all superb.
