Central Alberobello, with its high concentration of trulli. A trullo is made of stone, with a conical stone roof, and is usually topped with a white pinnacle. The white symbols sometimes painted on the grey stone of the cupola are signs of good omen although their origins remain unknown.

Hi David, this is a nice view, and very well fitting at TE, I never knew they had such roofs in Bari, so I learn something again.
Do you have any idea whether tehre was a special reason why they build these kinds of roofs?

Very good pov: I never saw before a picture of Alberobello from above and this for me makes the first difference. Good also the dof. The attitude of persons gives us the idea of a peacefull place. The roofs form a repetitive pattern fortunately not so rigid. A pity the part of roof in foreground on the left because it disturbs me a little.

I have to say the same thing as Zanni, first off, that I have not seen a view like this either. Usually they are seen in a more solitary way, not like this extending so far. It's an excellent point of view. You capture the town in its storybook look very well. The road is an excellent way to bring the eye around in this, to the foreground at the bottom and then back up and into the distance on the right side. People add scale, too. And the roofs make nice little peaks all around this like mounds. The foreground elements do intrude a lot but it doesn't bother me so much as this view really captures the place well.

This really is a nice shot. I like the way this pic stays sharp in the distance. Looks like a beautiful sleepy village from a fairytale.
