Palazzo Torres, built by Martino Torres in the first half of the XVI century, was the prestigious seat of important regional institutions, including the Apulian Court of Appeal, until less than half a century ago. Because of its strategic position between the Cathedral and the castle, at the beginning of the XIX century it hosted also the first repertory theatre of the town. Nowadays, it is the seat of Trani Judicial Institutes.

Il palazzo che ospita gli Istituti giudiziari di Trani risale alla prima metà del XVI secolo, fatto costruire da Martino Torres, presenta la facciata, interamente in pietra, è divisa orizzontalmente da cornici tese tra corpo e corpo, mentre le finestre tabernacolari, il portale e le tre balconate conferiscono al prospetto armonia e nobiltà di proporzioni e linee.

Il palazzo ospitò dal 1817 il massimo organo giudiziario della terra di Bari e d'Otranto, e dal 1681 al 1923, la Corte di Appello delle Puglie.
