Polignano a Mare is the birthplace of Domenico Modugno is a town in the province of Bari, in the Puglia region of 17,797 inhabitants in the province of Bari, in Puglia. The oldest part of the town stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Adriatic Sea at 33 kilometers south of the capital.
Fishing town is now an important tourist center, blue flag.
The country's economy is mainly based on tourism, agriculture and fishing.
Of natural interest are its sea caves and historically important are the historic center and the remains of Roman domination. Among the latter, the bridge of the Via Traiana, still walking, running through Monachile Lama.
