Crecchio is a town and comune in the province of Chieti, part of the Abruzzo region of central Italy.
Its main activities are agriculture and tourism.
Crecchio is located about 10 km from the Adriatic coast.
The morphology of the area is dominated by an alternation of hills and valleys. The village centre stands about 208 m above sea level.
Historical sources date Crecchio back to at least the 11th century, and archaeological evidence suggests it was inhabited at least as far back as the Roman era.
The Castle is famous for being the site of an event during World War II when, on September 10, 1943, after the armistice, King Vittorio Emanuele III of Italy, in flight from Rome, spent a night in the castle before leaving Italy from the port of Ortona.
An Etruscan and Byzantine museum, which receives many visitors each year, is located inside the castle.
The economy is mainly based on agriculture where vineyards and olive trees dominate the hills and valleys. The main vines grown are Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano.

la mia famiglia Ť nata a pochi km da questo paese.
Una foto che riprende tre epoche diverse e tre stili architettonici diversi. Bel cielo drammatico, con la piccola tettoia gialla che colpisce l'attenzione.

interesting place and good note accompanying. Very good photo with dark sky forming perfect background for all the buildings. Good light management makes foreground more outstanding. Nice, crispy and clear image with ideal sharpness.

A very good POV with this interesting building. A fine perspective and nice yellow eye-catcher as an extra accent. A pleasant sunshine but the dark clouds look very threatening,

The combination of partial sunshine and partial dark clouds often produces fantastic colours. So is the case in this photo, which also gains from the inclusion of an interesting old castle and some other fine buildings. The white barrier, as well as the red pavement, give the photo good depth.

Heel mooi gedaan, bedankt.

The dark sky really gives a very special light and atmosphere to the place. The sunlight makes a nice contrast and I like the composition, with part of the castle! Those yellow buildings in background are perfect!

A very expressiv picture, like a theater scene and not so far of chirico's painting that I like...
the sky is very dramatic, and a simple piazza makes finally a very good picture...
