Photographer’s Note
I took this shot at the small village of Avoca. Avoca is filled with colourful houses.
The village was made famous when it was used as the setting of a TV series called 'Ballykissangel'. It also has the oldest woolen mill in Ireland.

Hi Scott, interesting attempt here. I guess you're trying to show the contrast of the grey with the colours of the house. unfortunately it didn't work really well 'cus the house's not shown to be colorful. There wasn't much frontal lighting that could highlight the differences...Perhaps better if you've waited for a window of light to shine on the house before you click the shutter, so to produce that dramatic contrast you're looking for ( I presume). Also, it'd probably be better if you framed it much wider, as you said the place's full of colorful houses, not just one. Hope ya don't mind my interpretation~~
some extra post-processing, ie photoshop, could also help :)
Cheers
