Torc Waterfall Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo shows Torc waterfall which you can find quite near to Killarney National Park. I am not quite sure if the waterfalls belongs to the national park or not. MAybe one of you guys know better.

Unfortunatley, the weather was not that good when I was in Killarney so I skipped most of the national park due to the massive rain.

So what is better on a rainy day? Yep...right: Go to see a waterfall :-) Since you have enough water at a waterfall the weather fairy was nice and stopped te rain at the time I reached the waterfall. Thanks again ;-)

I tried to capture the waterfall with a long exposure so that the water becomes blurry.
Unfortunatley, the control monitor on my D50 is a bit to small to see if it worked or not.

I am not very pleased with the result but still I like it also because of the wide angle. So much information on one photo. I love my new ultrawide lens :-)

I just adjusted a bit of the lights...

Hey Kevin,

Yeah, the scenery is pretty amazing around Killarney. I might have been here, cause I know I hiked around some waterfalls, but don`t know if it was this one.
Anyhow, a beautiful photo, partly accomplished by a half a second exposure time. You probably could have gone up to a second (or is f/11 the max aperture on your new lens?). I like the composition in general here.
Scenery surrounding Killarney is for me the best part of Ireland .. and there are as you know many beautiful parts. :)

Lovely wood scene captured with such finesse that you have made the textures come alive and I can almost hear the chirping birds and the water flowing. Lovely work indeed.

despite the bad weather-conditions you´ve captured here a very well composed and and fine balanced waterfall-picture, i like it..
