Hook lighthouse - Wexford

Hook Lighthouse is a unique example of an almost intact medieval lighthouse. It dates from the early 13th century and was a major feat at the time of its construction.

Purpose built as a lighthouse, it has served sailors and shipping for 800 years, apart from a short closure during the 17th century. It is thought to be one of the oldest operational lighthouses in the world. When the Tower of Hook became fully automated in 1996 and no longer needed resident keepers, it was decided to celebrate its uniqueness by opening it to the public.

Stephen,
Nice long exposure here using the motion of the water and clouds to give the shot a sense of motion and direction. The lighting and colors are outstanding with great sharpness and DOF. Your composition is great with the placement of the lighthouse to one side with the inclusion of the sea and rocks on the other. This is a nice addition to you collection of wonderful lighthouses.
TFS,
Asa

Hi Stephen,
This is an amazing lighthouse photo, probably one of the most soft sea photos I've seen.
Water flowing over mossy rocks just looks like bedsheet made of silk..
Place of the land sticking to rule of thirds. And clouds above land also look like flowing in the sky...
It has a wonderful depth and 3D effect. I really wonder how much pp you applied for getting such an attractive result...
Best regards,
Burcu
