Photographer’s Note
Donegal trek april 2008
"Glenveagh National Park is one of six national parks in Ireland. Situated in the Northwest of Co. Donegal, Glenveagh encompasses some 16,000 acres in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains. Such a great wilderness is the haunt of many interesting plants and animals. These lands were managed as a private deer forest before becoming a national park in 1975. With the completion of public facilities Glenveagh National Park was officially opened to the public in 1986.
Glenveagh National Park is located 24km north-west of Letterkenny and can be reached via the villages of Kilmacrennan or Churchill.
Access from Letterkenny is by the (N56) road through Kilmacrennan, turning left on to the Gweedore road (R255), or alternatively via Church Hill, and past Gartan and Akibbon lakes (R251). This route passes close to both Newmills and the Glebe Gallery
Glenveagh Castle is a 19th century castellated mansion and was built between 1867 and 1873. Its construction in a remote mountain setting was inspired by the Victorian idyll of a romantic highland retreat."

Bonsoir Lukasz,
Encore un superbe cliché de la lande irlandaise.
Un rayon de soleil bien capté qui met en évidence le chateau en bas à droite.
De beaux contrastes de couleur
Bien vu !

Hi Lukasz. Marvelous vantage point that shows the rugged terrain and the castle dwarfed by such topography. Lovely colours and evocative light- especially with the dynamic sky and the brighter hills.Pozdrawiam. Klaudio.

Hi Lukasz,
I can say wow at the beginning. Great one with its splendidly colored textures on ridges and you very cleverly add the castle and dark colored lake. Perfect clarity in natural colors and sharpness. Cloudy sky is wonderful. Congratulations.
Best Regards,

Hello Lukasz
Very nice composition, love the angle on this and the moodiness is fantastic. Real Irish weather eh? The colours compliment the scene well.

Lukaz, you did it again! You show us again a wonderful moody image. I love the emptiness of the landschape, the well defined colors and the use of the river at your composition.
Best regards
KIKs

I think you've captured the mood of this area very well, there's a sense of wildness and foreboading, I also really like the strong contrasts between the colours.
