Poulnabrone Dolmen Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hello my friends. This picture was taken during Clonmel Camera Club journey to County Clare.

Poulnabrone portal tomb at the Burren in County Clare is one of the world's best known and most visited dolmens. It is estimated as being 4,500 years old which places it at the end of the Neolithic and the beginning of Ireland's Bronze Age. During an archaeological excavation at Poulnabrone, uncremated remains of 6 children and approximately 20 adults were found. A polished stone axe, some bone and flint items and broken pieces of pottery were also found.

Hi Wojciech,
I like the risky and original touch of the photography, undoubtedly a very attractive POV and with a singular perspective of the dolmen.
Magnificent force of the sky and great light.
An image with great creativity and artistic.

Hi Wojciech,
A very well known and photographed place, but you show us an original point of view. The sky is as I like them, blue with clouds for decoration !

Hi,

I would have liked you to have taken the photo straight. By tilting the dolme you loose the "weight" of the stones as you can geta feel of in pictures that are striaght. But this is my opinion.

Hi,
Kinda' hard to find an original approach on these dolmens but I think you figured it out quite nicely. The fish-eye effect combined with the tilt make for an interesting POV and it caught my eye. I see you were lucky to have some beautiful clouds to add in the sky...not always the case in this area, right?
