Photographer’s Note

This was taken at the Laytown Races - the only officially approved beach race in Europe – a racecourse created on a 3-mile long golden strand in Co Meath. The first race is off at 2.30pm once the tide goes out!

Simple and fantastic.
Taken at the right time.
Perfect DOF.
One small suggestion if you have taken this shot at the time when our first horse in position as the second horse from right side of image (completely in air).
That will be too good.

Excellent! Looks pin-sharp.
Great DOF and strong colours.
Pity some riders are hidden behind the leading horse.
I can't help thinking that you better move out of the way quick.
200mm I guess. Fine lens that 70-200 2.8! Someday....

I also see you have the 40D. What do you think about it?

A wonderful action shot, I agree with carper 800x600 should are very better, but I like this small picture through the splendid colours together with the drivers.
