Photographer’s Note
This fishing boat got a little too close to the shoreline a couple of weeks ago & ended up stranded on the beach after the tide went out. Luckily, no one was injured, no damage was done & the boat was able to move off again at high tide.
A bit of luck on my part too - if I'd chosen to drive into the city I wouldn't have seen it, and it's an unusual sight!
The WS is a colour image - one that even made the local newspaper (first time I've had something published by them).
I've been away from TE for a while, my photographic batteries needed re-charging! ;)

Beautiful, very graphical shot.
I like the feeling it gives, of an uneven sitiuation, the rfelections and the off-centered composition, with trhe human figure for balance.

Hi Peter,
The utilization of the B&W at this photo works very well and gives it the dramatic touch that needs this scene.
The low tide provokes these images, always peculiar and interesting.
The ship seems to think a rest to be prepared tomorrow for the hard work.
Good setting, beautiful reflections in the water, and human presence. Everything is organized well.
I wish you a good recharge of your photographic batteries.
Best regards,
Josep

Great shot! The boat on the beach, high and dry, is unusual and eye-catching. The reflection in the pool of water really adds a lot to the composition, and it also lightens the bottom part of the frame. Great piece of work!

That man standing beside the boat seems to think "what the **** happened?" but despite this "little" problem, your composition is very good and b&w give strenght.

Hi Peter,
welcome back to TE;) Ive been away too, but not because of batteries.....
Very nice b/w. Good tonality, nice overview of the boat, surrounding area and good reflection. The person is a good addition to this shot.

Good to see you back Peter.
Good shot of the stranded boat. I like how it is reflected in the puddle. I love the inclusion of the person, who's stance seems to indicate perplexity adding a lot to the composition as well as providing scale.
Congratulations on being published.

Hi Peter, how are you ? First thanks for your comment i'm just reading, a pleasure you stopped on that one in particular :)
I missed that one and first time i'm seeing it and happy to see such a beautiful picture in your gallery. This is good, in BW, the must here is of course the reflexion of this lost boat, nd you had a reflected soul which is good also.
In order to give more "mood" to this picture i would have suggested more 'dark' in it, ie the picture is perhaps a little bit too luminous. Just a suggestion of course peter.
See you

No wonder they published this one, an excellant image and one that is a bit ironic as the puddle is too small for the boat

Ciao Peter,
very good choice of B&W: it give an ancient atmosphere. Excellent framing with a good angle, nice reflections and the inclusion of the person (another photograph...?) that looks also him at this boat and think like us of its past sailing.

Hello Peter,
Good choice of angle to shot, the reflection add a touch of graphical style...it seems you weren't the only photograph on the beach...thanks to him for adding a living element,i just find it a little bit overexposed..with the to much white clouds,an underexposure choice may give a more dramatic mood...IMHO as we say
bye,

Hi Peter,
they either had too many beers or had a woman on board;-)...as someone already said: boats or ships they all belong to the sea and should remain where they belong...a sad and heartbreaking view but an easy and well composed "catch" for you...cheers, arturo

Hi Peter. Congrats on getting into print. I like your posted version more, I think the POV and composition give the scene more drama. Good PP also. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Maybe they should have taken advantage of the beaching to clean the hull...
B/W is a good choice, as there is something timeless about a shipwreck, even if it happened just a couple of weeks ago. You could probably get some richer tones in the sky and in the sand, though, with some selective increases in contrast. Nice composition, though, setting the boat against the sky. Regards, Ken.

Hi Peter,
I've seen a few of these in my time, I always think they look sad and lonely....until they're refloated then they look happy again, well at least the skipper does! A good choice of B&W and well done for having one published. Good to have you back, I know what you mean about re-charging the batteries.

Peter,
Was this one taken black and white or color. I think this is a very good photo, the light, the angle, the distance. Congrads,
