Photographer’s Note

Ballinskellig Bay the day after yesterday's Ballinskelligs Bay, and from the opposite site.
Here, near the village of Ballinskellig are the remains of an old abbey, of which the cemetery is still used. It is said to be the abbey of the monks who retreated from the Skellig Islands in the thirteenth century. Some of the stones were very, very old and almost nothing was left.

This is an area of Ireland where still a lot of people speak Gaelic, and in summer it is full of students and schoolchildren learning Gaelic.

The bay was stunning again, and the light perfect for these two white gravestones. I don't have any pictures of the front of the stones, because the sea was so beautiful as a background.

On the other side of the bay lies Waterville, of which I might post a picture later.

Ran auto-levels, cropped, and added a small frame.
